I’ve added two of new songs to our 2017 book, they are on the WUG Book tab, both individually for those who print and in the 2017 book, for those who use a tablet. I liked the 80s!
Thanks to Neville to sending this photo of yesterdays performance. We should all stop yawning on stage!!!
Everything went really well today and there have been lots of positive comments from the people who heard us, so well done. I’m sure that someone will have videoed a song or two and, if I come across any, I’ll post them on here.
There will not be a session this Tuesday (5th) so I will see you all on the 19th for the next get together.
Thanks for today and I hope we raised a lot of cash!
I hope you are all feeling fit a ready for Saturday’s fund raiser. As you know, we are opening the show which starts at midday this Saturday. Please be there by 11:45 at the latest with the gig book, the busk book, a music stand and a few clothes pegs are always useful if it is windy (oh, and your uke!). If we play like we did in the last session it’s going to be good. The most important thing is to enjoy it, and if you can’t muster enjoyment at least try and look like you’re enjoying it and sing with confidence.
See you on Saturday!
This Tuesday (15th) is the ultimate Pantiles gig session. I’ve put together a gig book for those who want one and it’s on the WUG Books page. The jam book is also on there if you haven’t downloaded it yet. See you all on Tuesday replete with strong voices, smiles and confidence!!!
Sheila has asked me to pass this on to you all. If you’ve nothing to do next Saturday and fancy some ukeing, this is quite local!
This Tuesday (1st) is a WUG Tuesday. It’s our penultimate session before the Pantiles on the 2nd September. After this weeks session I will put together a gig book for the Pantiles as if anyone is using a tablet navigating could be a little tricky without one.
If it’s been some time since you last changed your strings (or maybe you never have) you might want to start thinking about it soon. It will make you uke sound better, but you will need a few weeks for them to bed in and stretch so you aren’t having to re-tune after every song. The basic Aquila strings seem to be the strings of choice for many, but there are plenty others out there if you fancy something different. If you would like any advice on which strings to get, where to get them from or how to re-string your uke, either email me or we can have a chat on Tuesday.
I hope you have all recovered from the last session and are ready for another hard one this Tuesday! Our set for the Pantiles will be:
- A message to you Rudy – 7
- Never tear us apart – 64
- Wipeout – 62
- I think we’re alone now – 58
- Why you been gone so long – 42
- Dreaming – 44
- Handle with care – 56
- It must be love – 45
- Wake up little Susie – 60
- Sunny afternoon
This Tuesday is a WUG Tuesday! If you haven’t yet had a quick look at the recap video I posted a couple of weeks ago, please do if you get a chance – it will make things easier in the session. See you all on Tuesday!
Hello, sorry I couldn’t be there last night and thank you to Howard for taking control! I’ve made a video recapping 3 of the songs we did in my last session that we will be doing at the Pantiles gig. It would be good if you could all take a look at it to make sure you are up to speed with what we are doing. I have no idea why the first 38 seconds are a red screen!
