This Tuesday (1st) is a WUG Tuesday. It’s our penultimate session before the Pantiles on the 2nd September. After this weeks session I will put together a gig book for the Pantiles as if anyone is using a tablet navigating could be a little tricky without one.
If it’s been some time since you last changed your strings (or maybe you never have) you might want to start thinking about it soon. It will make you uke sound better, but you will need a few weeks for them to bed in and stretch so you aren’t having to re-tune after every song. The basic Aquila strings seem to be the strings of choice for many, but there are plenty others out there if you fancy something different. If you would like any advice on which strings to get, where to get them from or how to re-string your uke, either email me or we can have a chat on Tuesday.
I hope you have all recovered from the last session and are ready for another hard one this Tuesday! Our set for the Pantiles will be:
- A message to you Rudy – 7
- Never tear us apart – 64
- Wipeout – 62
- I think we’re alone now – 58
- Why you been gone so long – 42
- Dreaming – 44
- Handle with care – 56
- It must be love – 45
- Wake up little Susie – 60
- Sunny afternoon
This Tuesday is a WUG Tuesday! If you haven’t yet had a quick look at the recap video I posted a couple of weeks ago, please do if you get a chance – it will make things easier in the session. See you all on Tuesday!
Hello, sorry I couldn’t be there last night and thank you to Howard for taking control! I’ve made a video recapping 3 of the songs we did in my last session that we will be doing at the Pantiles gig. It would be good if you could all take a look at it to make sure you are up to speed with what we are doing. I have no idea why the first 38 seconds are a red screen!
Hello all, just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the next WUG session.
This Tuesday (6th) is our nest session. Please bring with you Sunny Afternoon and the busk book for the Pantiles. See you on Tuesday!
As you all should know we are doing the charity fundraiser on the Pantiles again this year on the 2nd September. Please let me know if you can’t make it. The busk book is on the WUG Books page. Our set list will be taken from the following songs and will be finalised at a later date:
Sunny Afternoon, A message to you Rudy, Valerie, Why you been gone so long, Dreaming, It must be love, Cowgirl in the sand, Handle with care, I think we’re alone now, Wake up little Susie, Wipeout and Never tear us apart.
Please have a look at these before the next session (which isn’t tomorrow) if you get chance.
See you all on the 6th June.
I’ve written out an arrangement of Sunny Afternoon that I think is a good one – but maybe not the easiest! I would like to consider it for the Pantiles in September if we can. It is on the books page, please have a look at it as there are 4 unusual chords that need to be learnt for it. A play-a-long version of it, and the arrangement I’ve procured, can be found here. Enjoy!
I’ve put a 2 page version of “I think we’re alone now” on the books page which will hopefully make it easier to remember when we play the slow strummed bits!
This Tuesday is a WUG Tuesday – hurrah! I look forward to seeing you all Tomorrow.
